A text and code editor that never loses your work. Open a file, fix it, quit the app — tomorrow every tab, caret and unsaved line is exactly where you left it.
Just Editor runs on macOS, iPhone and iPad. It opens anything from a config file to a 30-language codebase, previews Markdown natively, and keeps a session snapshot so a crash hands your work back instead of losing it.
Features
Nothing gets lost
Tabs, splits, carets and unsaved text come back after you quit. A crash offers your unsaved work back rather than dropping it.
Thirty languages
Eighteen are parsed by Tree-sitter, so highlighting follows the real structure of the code instead of regular expressions.
Finding things
Find and replace with regular expressions, directory search with include and exclude globs, go to line, and a project sidebar.
Local tools
JSON, file comparison, Base64, URL, JWT, hashes and timestamps — computed on your device, not pasted into somebody else’s website.
Markdown with pictures
Preview rendered natively, with no web view inside. A pasted image lands beside your note and the file stays plain text.
Syntax checking
Shows where a file stops parsing — in the status bar and as a list you can step through.
Your files stay with you
The app contains no networking code. It does not connect to any server — ours included — so there is nowhere for information about you or your files to be sent.
Session recovery copies live inside the app’s own folder and never overwrite your files. The app runs in the system sandbox and only sees what you open yourself.
Legal documents
The app is free: no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases. The App Store link appears here once it is published.
